The German Tote Service- und Beteiligungs GmbH (German Tote), located in Neustadt am Rübenberge, is a subsidiary of the french betting company PMU (majority shareholder) and the Betriebsgesellschaft der Galopp-Rennvereine mbH (BGG) in Cologne. The shareholders of the BGG are 22 German racing clubs in total. Since the takeover of German Tote (founded in 2002) by BGG in 2005, the company has developed into the most valuable betting broker of horse racing in Germany. In addition to six own betting shops German Tote cooperates with around 40 stationary shops of sales partners.
